Roadside Rhododendrons by Sarah Rambold, www.sarahrambold.com, Canadian Artist, Kelowna, B

Roadside Rhododendrons transports viewers to the everyday beauty of British Columbia’s mountainous landscapes captured during a road trip. Illuminated in a lightbox – like looking out through a car window – this piece invites viewers to pause and appreciate the beauty that often goes unnoticed in our fast-paced lives.

Striking rhododendron blossoms serve as a visual narrative of connection, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own experiences with nature and the solace it can provide. Research has shown that nature exposure can significantly enhance mental well-being including reduce stress, improve mood, and boost cognitive function – even if it’s just looking at a nature photograph.

Aiming to uplift and inspire, viewers are invited to find joy and tranquility in the world and small moments around them. This piece not only celebrates the natural beauties of British Columbia but also serves as a call to embrace the healing and restorative power of nature—a narrative that can resonate deeply in our modern lives.
